Field Camp Youth Expeditions’ Colorado Trip!
Special thanks to our partner Field Camp Youth Expeditions for arranging a tremendous nature and travel discovery for our high school student group!
Wilderness Works sent a co-ed group to Denver, Colorado for time visiting the extraordinary displays of fauna at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and later the amazing art collection at the Denver Art Museum.
The group enjoyed a bus ride to Snowmass Village for day hikes at near 12,000’ in nearby Snowmass Wilderness. Our group thrilled to a special trip to near 13,000’ as we visited Independence Pass and the Continental Divide – all in three feet of snow!
Our excited group headed southbound to Buena Vista for camping on the Arkansas River with Noah’s Ark guides and fantastic cooking. This visit included an unforgettable five hour whitewater rafting tour of the rugged Arkansas River. Super guide Matt prepared a wonderful lunch!
In two days we began a 30 mile trek into the snow filled heights of the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness.
Our group of students hated leaving Colorado and the bonds we built amongst friends.
The good news: we reunite again in Atlanta!
