Cool Summer Temps at Camp Kanuga
Despite a pandemic’s slowing our programming Wilderness Works delivered a memorable July summer camp week in the cool Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina! For everyone’s safety, parents really helped ahead of time by readying their children in a mandatory quarantine so children could attend.
With a smaller group than usual campers were able to swim and canoe on beautiful Lake Kanuga. After a challenging hike, the group enjoyed stunning 360 degree views from high atop Black Balsam in the nearby Shining Rock Wilderness.
Special thanks to Kanuga for providing an amazing location for our campers.
This unforgettable week would have not have been possible without the generosity of support from the Arnold and Winnie Palmer Foundation and the continued financial support of Julie’s Dream.
Our work serving Atlanta’s neediest children continues, and we have our eyes set on the horizon for the post-pandemic world and all the opportunities that it will bring!
