Whitewater!

In early June, campers were treated to the challenge and excitement of whitewater rafting! Campers in our Core Camp program made the trek into Western NC for an unforgettable adventure. The Core Camp tier of our program is for weekend excursions, and this month our campers were from Atlanta area foster homes and homeless shelters.

In addition to the thrill of rafting down the Nantahala River, our campers spent each night in the majestic Smoky Mountains National Park, taking hikes and viewing waterfalls in preparation for their rafting trips.

We are deeply grateful to our friends at Julie’s Dream who sponsored this once in a lifetime adventure for the children in our Wilderness Works programs.
